Yes โ and it’s one of the best things about an eSIM. Travinger runs alongside your normal SIM using Dual SIM, so you keep your usual number while the eSIM handles your travel data.
How Dual SIM works
Modern phones can run two lines at once: your physical SIM (or primary eSIM) and the Travinger travel eSIM. You choose which line is used for data โ set it to Travinger while you travel โ and your personal number stays active for calls and texts.
Why travellers love this
- Stay reachable โ friends, family and bank verification texts still reach your normal number.
- No bill shock โ data runs on your prepaid Travinger plan, not expensive home-carrier roaming.
- Best of both โ keep your SIM for calls and use the eSIM for fast, affordable data.
The one setting to get right
Make sure the Travinger line is selected for mobile data and that Data Roaming is on for it โ while keeping Data Roaming off on your personal SIM so it never charges you. On iPhone, turning off “Allow Cellular Data Switching” stops it falling back to your home SIM.
Calls and texts
Travinger is data-only, so use your normal SIM for traditional calls and SMS, or make free calls over Wi-Fi apps like WhatsApp and FaceTime using your eSIM data.
